Up close
The Yaskawa HC10 is a six-axis collaborative robot that carries 10 kg and reaches 1,200 mm. Torque sensors in every joint let it work beside people after a risk assessment, and operators can teach positions by guiding the arm by hand. It suits assembly, machine tending, packing and welding; newer versions (HC10DT, HC10DTP) add IP67 protection and through-arm cabling.
Key features
10 kg payload
Handles mid-size parts, grippers and welding torches.
1,200 mm reach
Covers machines, benches and conveyors from one spot.
Hand-guided teaching
Move the arm by hand to record positions.
Power and force limiting
Joint torque sensing stops the arm on contact.
Yaskawa controllers
Runs on YRC1000 or YRC1000micro.
Newer versions
HC10DTP adds IP67 sealing, through-arm cabling and a standard tool flange.
Is it right for you?
Good fit if
- Assembly, machine tending, packing or welding beside people
- Tasks needing about 1.2 m of reach
- Teams that want hand-guided programming
- Plants already using Yaskawa robots
Not ideal if
- Payloads over 10 kg including tool and cables
- Collaborative use without a task-specific risk assessment

Questions
What is the difference between HC10, HC10DT and HC10DTP?
They share the 10 kg payload and 1,200 mm reach. The DT and DTP versions add IP67 protection, cabling through the arm and a standard tool interface. Confirm which version and controller a quote includes.
Can it work next to people without a fence?
Its power and force limiting allows collaborative work, but only after a risk assessment of the whole task, including the tool and the parts it carries.
How do you programme it?
With Yaskawa's Smart Pendant or by guiding the arm by hand to teach positions.
