Up close
The Starship delivery robot is a six-wheeled robot that carries meals, groceries and parcels along footpaths at walking pace (about 6.4 km/h). Its locked, insulated compartment holds up to 9 kg (about three shopping bags) and the customer unlocks it in the app. It drives itself, with remote operators stepping in when needed, and runs up to 18 hours per charge. Starship runs it as a managed delivery service for campuses, neighbourhoods and retailers, not as a robot you buy. By late 2025 its fleet of over 2,700 robots had made more than nine million deliveries.
