Up close
The Sony aibo ERS-110 was the first commercial aibo, sold in 1999 as a limited online edition. The 1.6 kg robot dog had 18 joints, a colour camera, stereo microphones and touch, distance and motion sensors, and ran about 1.5 hours per battery. Today it is a collector's piece; working units depend on battery health and the original software.

Battery health, joint condition, the original Memory Stick software, and whether the charger and accessories are included. Original batteries and parts are scarce.
