Up close
FBR Hadrian is a truck-mounted robot that builds structural block walls straight from digital plans. Its 32 m telescopic boom reaches walls up to three storeys, a shuttle feeds blocks of up to 45 kg to a laying head that bonds them with adhesive, and Dynamic Stabilisation Technology cancels out boom movement and wind to keep placement accurate. It lays up to 360 blocks an hour. FBR sells it to select partners (published base price AUD 7.8 million) and also offers Wall-as-a-Service.
